Trudi Brown, MD, FACS – JMBCC Medical Director
Dr. Brown is accepting new patients at The Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center. With more than 28 years of surgical experience, Dr. Brown specializes in the treatment of benign and malignant breast diseases. She performs stereotactic and ultrasound guided core biopsies as well as lumpectomy, mastectomy, nipple sparing mastectomy, oncoplastic surgery, and sentinel lymph node biopsy. Dr. Brown received her medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, West Virginia and completed general surgery residency at Fairview General Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. In Ohio, she was employed at University Hospital’s Parma Medical Center and there developed an interest and specialization in the treatment of both benign and malignant breast disease. While at Parma, she served as the Division Director of General Surgery for the last 10 years and was an active member of the Cancer Committee at The Seidman Cancer Center. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery and an active member of the American College of Surgeons as well as the American Society of Breast Surgeons.

Deborah Sims, MD, FACS
Dr. Sims provides clinical breast exams, minimally-invasive biopsies, cancer screenings and patient follow-up. She is a board certified general surgeon with more than 30 years of experience, and she has been a breast specialist for nearly two decades. Before moving to Pennsylvania in 2003, Dr. Sims practiced in the Metropolitan Detroit area, where she helped build the breast care program at Providence Hospital. In addition, Dr. Sims held previous positions at the Divine Providence Breast Health Center in Williamsport, Carlisle Regional Medical Center, Geisinger Health System, and the Susquehanna Breast Care Center in Harrisburg. Dr. Sims belongs to many specialty medical societies, such as the American Society of Breast Surgeons. In addition, she is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Sims regularly attends meetings to remain current on advances and breakthroughs in medical research, and she is well-versed in the latest treatment options for breast health. Dr. Sims is accepting new patients.

Tracey Eckenrod, CRNP
As a nurse practitioner, Tracey Eckenrod provides follow-up care for patients with breast problems, diseases, and cancers, as well as educates patients about the importance of early detection, prevention, and screening. Eckenrod is a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner, Board Certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She obtained her Master of Science with a specialization in Family Nurse Practitioner from Carlow University, a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. Eckenrod is also a graduate of Conemaugh School of Nursing. Since becoming a nurse practitioner, in addition to breast care, Eckenrod has acquired a broad range of experience in family practice, geriatrics, long term care, personal care, hospice, and wound care. She also has 20 years of experience as a registered nurse in the critical care setting.
