Full Time Positions

Admission Support RN

This position is responsible for providing total patient care for each hospice and IPU patient that is based on the individual patient care plan and medical care plan with appropriate age-specific assessments, interventions, evaluation and care implementation. This position is also responsible for providing patient and family education as the foundation of nursing care and assist IPU nurse with teaching patients and family skills necessary to care for themselves at home. Valid PA licensure as a RN required. Valid PA driver’s license required. Current CPR Certification required. One year of experience and/or training in a nursing field required.

Athletic Trainer – North Star

North Star Position

This position is responsible for providing Athletic Training Services to student athletes at a local school district under the direction of the Director of Rehabilitation Services, team physician, or by written referral from a physician, and in accordance with state athletic training practice act. Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in a health-related field with current Board of Certification Inc. certification required. One-to-two years related experience and/or training preferred. Entry level graduates with BOC certification will be considered.

Certified Surgical Assistant

This position has the responsibility of meeting the needs of surgical patients effectively and efficiently by assisting in patient care while in the surgical suite. Patient care includes age and case specific needs of all elective and emergency surgeries while performing routine and delegated duties. This position also includes performing the sterilization process of instrumentation and maintaining adequate supplies as needed. The surgical assistant may function as First assistant under the direct supervision of the attending surgeon after finishing school. Diploma from accredited school of surgical Technology required. Surgical Technology certification required within six months of graduation. CPR certification preferred, but required within 6 months of hire. Three to six months related experience and/or training preferred.

CNA – Hospice Home Care

This position is responsible for providing basic patient nursing care and select services to patients within their home setting. This position is responsible for providing for the patient’s needs and comfort. High school diploma or GED and Completion of a Nurse Aide training course required. Valid Pa Nurse Aide certification, current CPR certification and valid PA drivers’ license required. This position is Monday-Friday day shift with minimal after hours and weekend work required.

Exercise Physiologist

This position is responsible for supervising, assisting and counseling all members for the purpose of developing individualized exercise prescriptions based on member goals. This position is also responsible for orientation of exercise equipment, proper implementation of exercise prescription and counseling of clients on risk factor modification and the physiological assessment of members. Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in an exercise related field required. CPR certification preferred at time of hire, required within 6 months of hire date. One to two years related experience and/or training preferred.

Groundskeeper

This position is responsible for developing, instituting and sustaining a broad-based turf and landscape plan for both the interior and exterior of Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber properties. Attends to the cleaning of sidewalks and parking lots seasonally, including snow and ice removal and when needed; assists in the cleaning of the Medical Arts Building. High school diploma or GED preferred. Six months to one-year related experience and/or training in horticulture, biodegradable insecticides, and landscape design preferred.

Hospice Clinical Quality Analyst

The Home Care Quality Analyst RN combines clinical skills with computer expertise when analyzing, entering, and reporting Quality data. This role supports home care providers and staff in utilizing technology and data to improve the quality, efficiency, and safety of patient care in the home care settings through electronic documentation and reporting. This position is also responsible for coordinating Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement activities for Hospice and provides direction and education regarding patient care issues and documentation issues in terms of application of Hospice and Home Care regulatory and quality standards. This position is also responsible for initial and ongoing assessment, interventions, evaluation and care
plan implementation for Hospice patients. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a clinical setting required. Valid PA RN license required. CPR certification required. Valid Driver’s License and proof of insurance are required. Motor Vehicle Record checks will be performed upon hire, in addition to annually thereafter.

Hospital Supervisor – Clinical Services

This position is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the delivery of patient care from 3pm-7am, Monday through Friday and 24 hours on weekends and holidays. Oversees and coordinates the final staffing for the following shift and adjusts staffing for current shift as census/acuity warrants. Acts as administrative representative, interpreting and enforcing established policies and procedures for all hospital departments. This individual is held accountable for demonstrating high standards of general conduct and professional performance at all times. Current PA Registered Nurse license required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; BSN required within 5 years after acceptance of position. ACLS and PALS required within 6 months. Minimum of one year of current acute care nursing experience, critical care experience preferred. Supervisory and/or managerial experience preferred.

Housekeeper

This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the Medical Center by, cleaning, gathering municipal and infectious waste, and supplying linens for patient care. Also responsible for outside maintenance of grounds and ensuring aseptic conditions in all patient care areas. High school diploma and 2 years experience in hospital setting preferred. Buffing, rinse VAC and scrubbing machine experience preferred.

Licensed Practical Nurse or Medical Assistant – WindberCare Physicians in Richland

CSS Medical Center at Windber is seeking a full-time position in the WindberCare Physician practice located in Richland. Duties include: assisting physician with all aspects of patient needs, phone triage, office visit intake, vital signs, injections, EKG’s, counseling patients with medication and/or prescriptions, perform various office testing as ordered by the physician, scheduling test procedures & obtaining authorizations if needed, process laboratory specimens, maintain patient drug information, maintain office equipment, & perform various clerical functions as needed. Current, valid LPN license or two years experience working as a Medical Assistant in an office setting & CPR certification is required. One year related experience and/or training is preferred.

Phlebotomist

This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of Laboratory Customer Service tasks. Acts as a clerk for the laboratory and effectively performs specimen collection procedures. This position will travel to Skilled Nursing Facilities and off-site draw locations. Must be a graduate of an approved Phlebotomy Training Program. Experience in a hospital or nursing home environment and geriatric and pediatric skills and able to perform heelstick on newborns preferred. Computer skills required. Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in a radiologic technologist program required. Current, valid American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) registration required. CT imaging experience a plus or willingness to cross-train. CPR certification preferred at time of hire, required within 6 months of hire date. Six months to one year related experience and/or training preferred.

Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab

Under general supervision, performs a variety of professional nursing, technical and administrative duties as they relate to the cardiac catheterization lab. Perform scrub, circulate and hemodynamic monitoring duties with cardiac catheterizations using clinical knowledge, technical skills, and professional judgment in accordance with professional and departmental standards and protocols. Provides care, assessment prior, during and post-procedural instruction to patients. Prepares and maintains all pertinent information related to procedures. Current, valid PA RN license required. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) is preferred. BLS and ACLS certification required. 1-2 years Cath Lab and/or interventional radiology experience is preferred. 2-3 years ICU and/or ED experience is required. Must be fluent in medical terminology; Ability to use radiographic equipment and handle patients who present in a variety of conditions. Knowledge of cardiology, electrophysiology and pacemaker and related equipment preferred.

Registered Nurse – CCU/Med-Sugical/Telemetry

This position is responsible for providing routine nursing care within the scope of the Registered Nurse and intensive up-to-date treatment modalities for the critically ill or critically injured patient in the Medical/Surgical Unit and the Critical Care Unit (CCU). This position is also responsible to administer life saving measures within moments notice under direct medical supervision. Minimum Diploma of Nursing required. Valid Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license required. Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation certification, BLS, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications and Dysrhythmia and CCU Class preferred at time of hire, required within 6 months of hire date or enrolled in the next available course. Six months to one year related experience and/or training required.

This position requires the performance of a variety of duties to provide nursing care effectively and efficiently for individuals in various life stages. Respiratory Therapist

This position has the responsibility of being a staff therapist in the Respiratory Care department. It also has the responsibility of meeting the needs of patients effectively and efficiently by applying all aspects of Respiratory Care to assigned in-patients and out-patients. Patient care includes all medical therapies, educational information, Oxygen therapies, specialized procedures, and outreach programs within the scope of practice. As per departmental policy, on-call will be part of this position’s responsibilities. Associates degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school. National Certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist is preferred. Certified Respiratory Technician and valid PA license is required. ACLS certification required within 1 year of hire date. Nursing Assistant / Nurse Extern

May – August

This externship under the direction of a RN will meet the patient needs effectively and efficiently by applying complete nursing care to assigned patients. Care must be provided through all stages of ages in medical, surgical and telemetry areas of nursing.

  • Currently enrolled in a Registered Nurse Program or licensed Practical Nurse Program approved by a State Board of Nursing.
  • A Licensed Practical Nurse student must have completed the medical-surgical rotation.
  • BSN Program. A student must be entering their senior year and have completed at least the medical/surgical clinical component of his/her educational experience.
  • Diploma Program. A student who has completed their second year of nursing school.
  • Associate Program. A student who has completed their first year of school as who is considered a senior.
