What do patients have to say about their experiences at Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber?
“This past week I was in extreme pain after going to another emergency room and basically being shrugged off. I came to Windber as a second opinion. I walked in and was barely able to talk let alone swallow. The nurse triaged me fast and then started getting lab work done. The doctor came in and gave me an answer to what was wrong. Finally! Then he ran some more tests and when he got the reports from the other hospital he even went over them and explained that he was upset about the way they had treated me. The doctor then started me on IV antibiotics and I was in for the next 2 nights. I can’t thank the doctors and nurses enough for finally finding out what was wrong. I’ve come to Windber before and will continue to go there.”
“The nursing staff was very professional, courteous, and caring at all times, making dealing with my infection easier. I will continue to choose CCSMCW for my healthcare, and for my family. First Class all the way!”
“Truly patient-centered care! Everyone from the doctors, to the nurses and registrars were friendly and helped to soothe the pre-testing nerves. Would definitely recommend for excellent care.”
“Friendly, caring staff who take time to explain things and don’t rush testing.”
“The staff are always so nice and professional. I would not go anywhere else for my mammograms.”
“I have to admit that when Dr. Ellenberger suggested hospice for our mother, Lois, I was skeptical. I pictured “cold” personnel, clinical procedures and a very sterile environment. I had a lot to learn. When Windber Hospice came to the house, literally everyone was wonderful. Everyone was so warm and caring. The patience and attention shown not only to our mother, but to all of us, was outstanding. You listened when we asked questions and explained situations so clearly. You all became like family. You should all be so proud of yourselves and what you do. You as individuals and your services provided are simply awesome. Pat yourselves on the back and keep doing what you are doing. You have brought such comfort to our Mom and family, as I’m certain you do to everyone you service. The look of peace on Mom’s face when she passed is a testament to that. Cannot find the words to thank all of you enough, so we will just say Thank You!”
