Physician Opportunities

Internal Medicine Physician

Internal Medicine/Family Practice Physician

We are seeking an Internal and or Family Medicine trained provider to join us in pursuit of high quality patient care to provide full scope of primary care services including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care and health maintenance. Examines, diagnosis, prescribes and administers quality, evidence-based health care to patients.

  • Monday through Friday office hours

Qualifications:

  • Board-certified or Board-eligible Internal Medicine/Family Medicine Physician.
  • Active Pennsylvania Medical License in good standing upon effective date of employment.
  • Supervises Family Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in care management, clinical standards and procedures as needed including sign-off on charts, co-signatures for forms and prescriptions.
  • Meets Quality of Care (Quality Measures) and participates in Peer Review.
  • Completion/Documentation of EHR/Medical records, coding and signing of charts within the designated time set by the organization
  • Communicates effectively with the clinical team to insure total delivery of quality care.
  • Participates in medical staff educational programs and meetings.

Education & Experience

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or foreign equivalent.
  • Completion of four year post graduate medical training from an accredited residency program in area of practice (e.g., family practice or internal medicine).
  • Seeking both experienced and newly trained providers.

Full Time Positions

Aide – Dining Services

This position is responsible for being part of the meal service provisions provided by Dining Services & Nutrition. Responsible to deliver meals to patient floors as well as conference rooms, serves food to patients, cafeteria customers and catered events. Maintains proper portion control and food temperatures, operates the cash register and exhibits proper customer service.

Athletic Trainer – North Star

North Star Position

This position is responsible for providing Athletic Training Services to student athletes at a local school district under the direction of the Director of Rehabilitation Services, team physician, or by written referral from a physician, and in accordance with state athletic training practice act. Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in a health-related field with current Board of Certification Inc. certification required. One-to-two years related experience and/or training preferred. Entry level graduates with BOC certification will be considered.

Athletic Trainer – Windber

Windber School District

Certified Surgical Assistant

This position has the responsibility of meeting the needs of surgical patients effectively and efficiently by assisting in patient care while in the surgical suite. Patient care includes age and case specific needs of all elective and emergency surgeries while performing routine and delegated duties. This position also includes performing the sterilization process of instrumentation and maintaining adequate supplies as needed. The surgical assistant may function as First assistant under the direct supervision of the attending surgeon after finishing school. Diploma from accredited school of surgical Technology required. Surgical Technology certification required within six months of graduation. CPR certification preferred, but required within 6 months of hire. Three to six months related experience and/or training preferred.

CNA – Hospice Home Care

This position is responsible for providing basic patient nursing care and select services to patients within their home setting. This position is responsible for providing for the patient’s needs and comfort. High school diploma or GED and Completion of a Nurse Aide training course required. Valid Pa Nurse Aide certification, current CPR certification and valid PA drivers’ license required. This position is Monday-Friday day shift with minimal after hours and weekend work required.

Housekeeper

This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the Medical Center by, cleaning, gathering municipal and infectious waste, and supplying linens for patient care. Also responsible for outside maintenance of grounds and ensuring aseptic conditions in all patient care areas. High school diploma and 2 years experience in hospital setting preferred. Buffing, rinse VAC and scrubbing machine experience preferred.

Med Tech or Lab Tech

Position is responsible for performing all Lab testing as authorized by the Lab Manager to include proper procurement of blood, urine & other specimens on all age groups, maintenance of all laboratory equipment, daily quality control of all laboratory departments and reporting and maintaining all laboratory records. Bachelor’s degree from a 4 year college or university in a biology/medical related field or associate’s degree from a 2 year college required. ASCP certified or eligible. Minimum 2 years’ experience preferred.

Full Time Positions include:

This position is offered in three (3), 12 hour shifts per week (4 DAYS OFF PER WEEK), or a traditional 7.5 hour overnight shift, 5 days per week. Must be competent across all Lab areas.

Patient Care Tech – CNA or LPN – Wing III

This position is responsible for assisting the RN within the realm of the Nurse Assistant certification with respect to any changes with the patient, as well as transcribing orders, scheduling appointments & procedures, desk duties, & answering the phones. Valid Nurse Aide certification or LPN license required. CPR required. All Shifts required.

Phlebotomist

This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of Laboratory Customer Service tasks. Acts as a clerk for the laboratory and effectively performs specimen collection procedures. This position will travel to Skilled Nursing Facilities and off-site draw locations. Must be a graduate of an approved Phlebotomy Training Program and have 1 year experience in a hospital or nursing home environment. Must have geriatric and pediatric skills and be able to perform heelstick on newborns. Computer skills required. Must rotate weekends, shifts and holidays. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, valid registration and insurance.

Production – Dining Services Cook

This position is responsible for the production of hot & cold food times for patients, staff, visitors & catered events. This position ensures that items meet standards for quality, taste, texture, appearance & temperature & assists with inventory control. High school diploma or GED & experience in a commercial kitchen required. Healthcare experience, vocational training in culinary arts & ServSafe certification preferred.

Radiology Tech

This position, under the direction of the appropriate physician, is responsible for performing a variety of radiographic procedures using independent judgment. This position is responsible for ensuring high quality radiographic imaging services while maintaining efficient quality control and performance improvement programs as well as compliance with government regulations. Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in a radiologic technologist program required. Current, valid American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) registration required. CT imaging experience a plus or willingness to cross-train. CPR certification preferred at time of hire, required within 6 months of hire date. Six months to one year related experience and/or training preferred.

Registered Nurse – Ambulatory Services Unit

This position is responsible for providing nursing care in an ambulatory setting and teaching patients the skills necessary to care for themselves at home. This position must be able to meet patient needs effectively and efficiently in medical and surgical areas of nursing and provides direction to other staff members regarding patient care. Minimum Diploma of Nursing required. Current, valid PA RN License required. CPR / BLS, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Dysrhythmia course preferred at time of hire, required within 6 months of hire date or enrolled in next available course. Six months to one year related experience and/or training preferred.

Registered Nurse – Home Health

This position is responsible for providing total patient care for each home health patient that is based on the individual patient care plan and medical care plan with appropriate age-specific assessments, interventions, evaluation and care implementation. This position is also responsible for providing patient and family education as the foundation of nursing care. Valid PA licensure as a RN and PA driver’s license required. Current CPR Certification required. One year of experience and/or training in a nursing field required.

Registered Nurse – Hospice Home Care

This position is responsible for providing nursing care in patients’ homes/residences and teaches patients and families the skills necessary to care for themselves at home. This position is also responsible for meeting patient/family needs effectively and efficiently through all life stages and ages. This position also provides direction and oversight to other staff members regarding patient care. Valid/current PA Registered Nurse License required. CPR and valid driver’s license required. One year related experience is required.

Registered Nurse – Wing III

This position must assume responsibility of meeting patient needs effectively and efficiently by applying complete nursing care to assigned patients. Care must be provided through all life stages of ages in medical, surgical, and telemetry areas of nursing. This position also provides direction and oversight to other staff members regarding patient care. Valid PA RN license required. CPR / BLS required. ACLS and PALS certifications preferred. One year related experience is preferred.

Speech Therapist

This position is responsible for planning, developing and administering speech therapy services to patients with a variety of diagnoses with the goal of improving speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, and fluency. Master’s degree or equivalent in a speech-language therapy field required. Current, valid PA, Department of State Speech-Language Pathologist License required. Valid CPR certification required.

Sterile Processing Technician

This position is responsible for maintaining recommended standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilization of surgical instruments. Performs sterilization, assembly, and storage of medical supplies and equipment. Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts in an accurate and timely manner. May be assigned service specific technical responsibilities, including collaborating with the Director of Surgery and Operating Room service line RN Coordinators to provide resources and services for service specific instrumentation, supplies and equipment. Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous work flow, providing superior customer service. May be required to transport patients and do shave preps as needed by the OR. High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required. CRCST or CSPDT certification required. CPR certification preferred at time of hire, required within 6 months of hire date. One to two years experience as a central sterile Processing technician and/or training preferred.

Maintenance, plumbing and construction experience required. Electronics Certification or Training preferred. Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Systems Training preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Phlebotomist
