Internal Medicine/Family Practice Physician

We are seeking an Internal and/or Family Medicine trained provider to join us in pursuit of high quality patient care to provide full scope of primary care services including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care and health maintenance. Examines, diagnoses, prescribes and administers quality, evidence-based health care to patients.

Qualifications:

  • Board-certified or Board-eligible Internal Medicine/Family Medicine Physician.
  • Active Pennsylvania Medical License in good standing upon effective date of employment.
  • Supervises Family Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in care management, clinical standards and procedures as needed including sign-off on charts, co-signatures for forms and prescriptions.
  • Meets Quality of Care (Quality Measures) and participates in Peer Review.
  • Completion/Documentation of EHR/Medical records, coding and signing of charts within the designated time set by the organization.
  • Communicates effectively with the clinical team to insure total delivery of quality care.
  • Participates in medical staff educational programs and meetings.

Education & Experience:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or foreign equivalent.
  • Completion of four year post graduate medical training from an accredited residency program in area of practice (e.g., family practice or internal medicine).

Full Time Positions

CRNP – Dr. Comas Office

This position is responsible for providing comprehensive health care to patients in collaboration with the physician including medical evaluation, treatment, counseling & referrals. ACLS, BLS required. Master’s degree & current PA Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner License required.

CRNP – Community Based Palliative Care

The CRNP for the Community based Palliative Care program works in collaboration with primary care providers, the Medical Director of Hospice and Home Care, local nursing and personal care homes, patients, families, and staff to deliver comprehensive, palliative care services to patients under the direction of the supervising Medical Director. Responsible for providing patient visits for palliative care patients, both new and established, and coordinating their plan of care. Patient visits will include visits to patient’s homes, facilities and hospitals. In addition, Community based Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner will engage in independent decision-making about a patient’s healthcare concerns and recommend palliative services or Hospice when indicated. Master’s degree from four year college or university and current PA Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner License required. CHPN or equivalent preferred. Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle for on the-job transportation and proof of insurance coverage required. Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Palliative Care, and/or Hospice, Pain & Symptom Management, healthcare in a hospital, clinic, home care, or physician practice setting preferred.

Director – Community Based Palliative Care

This position is responsible for the management of the Community Based Palliative Care Program at Windber Hospital, Inc. The Community Based Palliative Care Director will coordinate care for patients and families who require or are candidates for Palliative Care. This person utilizes the nursing process to assist and direct the CRNP in identification and management of patients with chronic health conditions. This person provides leadership and coordination in the planning, organization, communication, and evaluation of all activities of the palliative care program. This person proactively identifies patients who are appropriate for palliative care services, assesses all palliative care referrals based on patient/family goals to determine appropriate level and type of care for palliative care services and provides information to patients/families regarding the palliative care program. This position insures continuity of care between settings, physicians & care team members; participates as a member of the interdisciplinary palliative care team; monitors and reports outcomes, assesses/identifies and works with the interdisciplinary care teams to address such barriers; provides education to physicians, inpatient staff, and the community on palliative care. RN, BSN preferred or must obtain within 5 years. CHPN or equivalent preferred. Current PA RN license and CPR required. Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle for on the-job transportation and proof of insurance coverage required. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a clinical setting as an RN Home Health, Palliative Care, or Hospice experience preferred. Management experience required.

Medical Assistant – Orthopedic Walk-in Clinic

This position is responsible for clerical duties as well as providing clinical care of Orthopedic Walk-In Clinic to ensure efficient and effective patient care. Medical Assistant diploma required. LPN and/or RN license acceptable at Medical Assistant pay range. CPR certification required. Three to six months related experience preferred.

Certified Nursing Assistant – Palliative Care Unit

This position is responsible for providing nursing care in the Palliative Care Unit (PCU) and teaching patients and families the skills necessary to care for themselves at home. This position is also responsible for meeting patient/family needs effectively and efficiently through all life stages and age. PCU CNAs are responsible for assisting the RN within the realm of the Nursing Assistant Certification with respect to any changes with patients. Valid Nurse Aide certification required. CPR required. Rotating shifts and weekend rotation required. 11-7, 3-11 and 7P-7A shifts.

Patient Accounting Representative / Biller – Hospice Home Care

This position is responsible for ensuring that all bills are filed in a timely and compliant manner with the appropriate payor. This position is responsible for maximizing CSSMCW’s cash flow by following up with insurance companies and patients on unpaid balances. Also the primary contact for patients and is responsible for answering payment/billing questions and resolving payment disputes in a friendly and professional manner. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. One to three months related experience and/or training preferred.

Registered Nurse – Critical Care Unit

This position is responsible for providing intensive up-to-date treatment modalities for the critically ill or critically injured patient in the Critical Care Unit (CCU). This position is also responsible to administer life saving measures within moments notice under direct medical supervision. Minimum Diploma of Nursing required. Valid Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license required. Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation certification, BLS, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications and Dysrhythmia and CCU Class preferred at time of hire, required within 6 months of hire date or enrolled in the next available course. Six months to one year related experience and/or training required.

Part Time Positions

Housekeeper

This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the Medical Center by, cleaning, gathering municipal and infectious waste, and supplying linens for patient care. Also responsible for outside maintenance of grounds and ensuring aseptic conditions in all patient care areas. High school diploma and 2 years experience in hospital setting required. Buffing, rinse VAC, and scrubbing machine experience preferred.

Certified Surgical Assistant

This position has the responsibility of meeting the needs of surgical patients effectively and efficiently by assisting in patient care while in the surgical suite. Patient care includes age and case specific needs of all elective and emergency surgeries while performing routine and delegated duties. This position also includes performing the sterilization process of instrumentation and maintaining adequate supplies as needed. The surgical assistant may function as First assistant under the direct supervision of the attending surgeon after finishing school. As of May 24, 2010 graduation/certification must be obtained within six months of hire. Diploma from accredited school of surgical Technology required. Surgical Technology certification required within six months of graduation. CPR certification preferred, but required within 6 months of hire. Three to six months related experience and/or training preferred.

Medical Office Secretary – Dr. Comas Office

This position is responsible for front office duties, clerical and triage support. Triage to include blood pressure, weighing patients, EKGS, urinalysis and recording of all information in chart. Clerical support to include telephone triage, pharmacy and patient messages to the physician, filing, transcription, collecting copays, scheduling testing and follow-up appointments. Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred in health care administration or comparable field or physician office related experience.

Casual Positions

Aide – Dining Services

This position is responsible for being part of the meal service provisions provided by Dining Services & Nutrition. Responsible to deliver meals to patient floors as well as conference rooms, serves food to patients, cafeteria customers and catered events. Maintains proper portion control and food temperatures, operates the cash register and exhibits proper customer service.

Registered Nurse – Hospice Home Care

This position is responsible for providing nursing care in patients’ homes/residences and teaches patients and families the skills necessary to care for themselves at home. This position is also responsible for meeting patient/family needs effectively and efficiently through all life stages and ages. This position also provides direction and oversight to other staff members regarding patient care. Valid/current PA Registered Nurse License required. CPR and valid driver’s license required. One year related experience is required.

Temporary Positions

Full Time Groundskeeper – Summer Position Only

This position is responsible for developing, instituting and sustaining a broad-based turf and landscape plan for both the interior and exterior of CSSMCW properties. Attends to the cleaning of sidewalks and parking lots seasonally; assists in the cleaning of the Medical Arts Building. High school diploma or GED preferred. Six months to one-year related experience and/or training in horticulture, biodegradable insecticides, and landscape design preferred.
