Full Time Positions

Charge Nurse – Wing III

This position must assume responsibility of meeting patient needs effectively and efficiently by applying complete nursing care to assigned patients. Care must be provided through all life stages of ages in medical, surgical, and telemetry areas of nursing. This position is responsible for the collaboration with physicians & interdisciplinary team, discharge planning and ensuring and providing direction and oversight to other staff members regarding patient care and adherence to regulatory agency standards. Graduate from an approved school of nursing and minimum diploma of nursing required. Current, valid Pennsylvania Registered Nurse License required. CPR / BLS, PALS preferred at time of hire, required within 6 months of hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and Dysrythmia preferred.

Speech Therapist

This position is responsible for planning, developing and administering speech therapy services to patients with a variety of diagnoses with the goal of improving speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, and fluency. Master’s degree or equivalent in a speech-language therapy field required. Current, valid PA, Department of State Speech-Language Pathologist License required. Valid CPR certification required.

Registered Nurse – Wing III

This position must assume responsibility of meeting patient needs effectively and efficiently by applying complete nursing care to assigned patients. Care must be provided through all life stages of ages in medical, surgical, and telemetry areas of nursing. This position also provides direction and oversight to other staff members regarding patient care. Valid PA RN license required. CPR / BLS required. ACLS and PALS certifications preferred. Med Tech or Med Lab Tech

This position is responsible for performing all Lab testing as authorized by the Lab Director to include proper procurement of blood, urine & other specimens on all age groups, maintenance of all laboratory equipment, daily quality control of all laboratory departments, and reporting & maintaining all laboratory records. Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in a biology/medical related field or associate’s degree from a two-year college required. ASCP certified required. Minimum 2 years experience preferred. Must rotate shifts, weekends, and holidays. Must be competent across all Lab areas.

Clinical Quality Analyst Home Care

The Home Care Quality Analyst combines clinical skills with computer expertise when analyzing, entering, and reporting Quality data. This role supports home care providers and staff in utilizing technology and data to improve the quality, efficiency, and safety of patient care in the home care settings through electronic documentation and reporting. This position is also responsible for coordinating Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement activities for Hospice and Home Health and provides direction and education regarding patient care issues and documentation issues in terms of application of Hospice and Home Care regulatory and quality standards. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a clinical setting required. Valid Pennsylvania Licensed Practical Nurse license required. Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation certification required.

Licensed Practical Nurse or Medical Assistant – WindberCare Physicians

This position is to provide nursing care to patients of the WindberCare Physician practice. Duties include, but are not limited to: assisting physician with all aspects of patient needs for the office visit, phone triage, office visit intake, vital signs, injections, EKG’s, counseling patients with medication and/or prescriptions, perform various office testing as ordered by the physician, scheduling test procedures & obtaining authorizations if needed, process laboratory specimens, maintain patient drug information, maintain office equipment, and perform various clerical functions as needed in the day-to-day operation of the office. Current, valid LPN license and CPR certification is required. One year related experience and/or training is preferred.

OR

This position is responsible for clerical duties as well as providing clinical care to ensure efficient and effective patient care. Candidate must be able to schedule appointments for the providers and patients in the office and at the hospital, answer the telephone and properly utilize the answering service, prepare reports and forwarded to appropriate parties, assist with patient clinical needs when they call or when they report to the office and maintain responsibility for records and billing. Graduate of medical assistant program required. Three to six months related experience preferred.

Centralized Scheduler

This position is responsible for scheduling out-patients for various departments throughout the facility. The scheduler will follow very specific protocols in scheduling patients including, but not limited to, reviewing physician orders for diagnosis, signature and scheduling instructions, verification of insurance, prior authorization requirements and medical necessity review. The scheduler utilizes customer service skills to assure that patients have all the information they need so that they arrive on time and prepared and all of the information required to bill properly for its services. Graduation from high school or equivalent is required. Completion of a medical terminology course within six months of employment as a scheduler. Two year’s experience in patient scheduling or closely related field. Hospital patient registration or physician office scheduling/patient registration experience preferred. Experience in customer service is desirable.

CNA – Hospice Home Care

This position is responsible for providing basic patient nursing care and select services to patients within their home setting. This position is responsible for providing for the patient’s needs and comfort. High school diploma or GED and Completion of a Nurse Aide training course required. Valid Pa Nurse Aide certification, current CPR certification and valid PA drivers’ license required. This position is Monday-Friday day shift with minimal after hours and weekend work required.

Athletic Trainer

North Star Position

This position is responsible for providing Athletic Training Services to student athletes at a local school district under the direction of the Director of Rehabilitation Services, team physician, or by written referral from a physician, and in accordance with state athletic training practice act. Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in a health-related field with current Board of Certification Inc. certification required. One-to-two years related experience and/or training preferred. Entry level graduates with BOC certification will be considered.

Registered Nurse – Home Health

This position is responsible for providing total patient care for each home health patient that is based on the individual patient care plan and medical care plan with appropriate age-specific assessments, interventions, evaluation and care implementation. This position is also responsible for providing patient and family education as the foundation of nursing care. Valid PA licensure as a RN and PA driver’s license required. Current CPR Certification required. One year of experience and/or training in a nursing field required.

Patient Care Tech – CNA or LPN – Wing III

This position is responsible for assisting the RN within the realm of the Nurse Assistant certification with respect to any changes with the patient, as well as transcribing orders, scheduling appointments & procedures, desk duties, & answering the phones. Valid Nurse Aide certification or LPN license required. CPR required. All Shifts required.

Registered Nurse – Emergency

This position requires the performance of a variety of duties to provide nursing care effectively and efficiently for individuals in various life stages. Comply with internal policies and procedures and applicable external regulatory requirements. Coordinate work within the department as well as with other departments. Minimum Diploma of Nursing required. Current PA RN License required. CPR, ACLS, PALS Certifications and Dysrhythmia Course preferred at time of hire, required within 6 months of hire date or enrolled in next available course. Six months to one year related experience and/or training preferred.

Part Time Positions

Phlebotomist

This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of Laboratory Customer Service tasks. Acts as a clerk for the laboratory and effectively performs specimen collection procedures. This position will travel to Skilled Nursing Facilities and off-site draw locations. Must be a graduate of an approved Phlebotomy Training Program and have 1 year experience in a hospital or nursing home environment. Must have geriatric and pediatric skills and be able to perform heelstick on newborns. Computer skills required. Must rotate weekends, shifts and holidays. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, valid registration and insurance.

Aide – Dining Services

This position is responsible for being part of the meal service provisions provided by Dining Services & Nutrition. Responsible to deliver meals to patient floors as well as conference rooms, serves food to patients, cafeteria customers and catered events. Maintains proper portion control and food temperatures, operates the cash register and exhibits proper customer service.

Temporary Positions

Physical Therapy Assistant

This position is responsible for assisting the Physical Therapist in appropriately following the patient care plan in a safe manner using advised modalities and therapeutic exercises and making sure the patient is safe and progressing through rehabilitation. Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in a physical therapy assistant program required. CPR certification required. Valid License Certificate for Physical Therapist Assistant required. Six months to one year related experience and/or training preferred.
