Full Time Positions

Payroll Clerk

The position is responsible for the day to day payroll functions. The payroll clerk will complete daily deposits for hospital and Palliative Care Foundation, bank reconciliations and journal entries each month to assist in closing. Associates degree from a 2 year college preferred. Kronos timekeeping system experience, Meditech payroll system experience and basic accounting skills preferred. Must be detail oriented and have the ability to meet deadlines and the ability to deal with people on a frequent basis.

Case Manager / Registered Nurse

This position is responsible for reviewing and monitoring patient care and use of hospital resources to ensure the patient receives high quality, cost effective care. This position is also responsible for establishing and maintaining contact with various insurance agencies and reporting to them pertinent patient information to obtain certification for services. Valid Registered Nurse license required. Six months to one year related experience and/or training preferred.

Security Supervisor

This position is responsible for the safety and security of the staff, patients and visitors of CSSMCW, along with the protection of physical assets of CSSMCW. High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Associate Degree in Criminal Justice or equivalent preferred. Valid PA driver’s license required. PA Acts 120 and 235 required. Municipal Police Officer Training and Lethal Weapons Training Act required. Previous supervisory experience in a hospital setting require. 5 years police experience or 5 years in corrections preferred. 5 years hospital security experience required.

Licensed Practical Nurse or Medical Assistant – Windber GYN Associates

This position will perform nursing procedures under supervision of providers, triage patients for appointments, schedule appointments, perform nurse phone duties, maintain all log book check systems & assist with office procedures. Valid PA LPN license OR Medical Assistant diplomas required & CPR required. GYN office experience preferred.

Certified Nursing Assistant – Hospice Inpatient Unit

This position is responsible for providing nursing care in the Hospice Inpatient Unit and teaching patients and families the skills necessary to care for themselves at home. This position is also responsible for meeting patient/family needs effectively and efficiently through all life stages and age. Hospice Inpatient CNAs are responsible for assisting the RN within the realm of the Nursing Assistant Certification with respect to any changes with patients. Valid Nurse Aide certification required. CPR required. Rotating shifts and weekend rotation required. 7-3, 3-11, and 7AM shifts

Part Time Positions


This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of Laboratory Customer Service tasks. Acts as a clerk for the laboratory and effectively performs specimen collection procedures. This position will travel to Skilled Nursing Facilities and off-site draw locations. Must be a graduate of an approved Phlebotomy Training Program and have 1 year experience in a hospital or nursing home environment. Must have geriatric and pediatric skills and be able to perform heelstick on newborns. Computer skills required. Must rotate weekends, shifts and holidays. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, valid registration and insurance.

Security Guard

This position ensures the safety of the hospital, hospital grounds and CSSIMMW for patients, visitors, and staff. Perform general light maintenance and courier duties as needed. High school diploma or GED and valid driver’s license required. Security experience preferred.

Ultrasound Tech

CSS Medical Center at Windber is seeking a part time Ultrasound Tech with Rad tech experience preferred. Able to perform Ultrasound and X-Rays, under the direction of a physician, is responsible for performing ultrasound in an ACR accredited laboratory, including general, vascular & cardiac procedures. ARDMS registered or eligible, with registry achieved within 6 months of hire.

Casual Positions


This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the Medical Center by, cleaning, gathering municipal and infectious waste, and supplying linens for patient care. Also responsible for outside maintenance of grounds and ensuring aseptic conditions in all patient care areas. High school diploma and 2 years experience in hospital setting preferred. Buffing, rinse VAC and scrubbing machine experience preferred.

Grant and Fundraising Specialist

This position is overall responsible for specific business development, grant procurement, outreach and fundraising for the Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center (JMBCC) and the Chan Soon-Shiong Institute of Molecular Medicine at Windber (CSSIMMW). This position is also responsible for implementing functions as directed to meet the needs of these Organizations. Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, fundraising, or related field or equivalent experience and education. Extensive grant experience. Strong interest in scientific publication and grant writing. Previous community organization fund raising experience preferred.

Patient Care Tech – CNA or LPN – Wing III

This position is responsible for assisting the RN within the realm of the Nurse Assistant certification with respect to any changes with the patient, as well as transcribing orders, scheduling appointments & procedures, desk duties, & answering the phones. Valid Nurse Aide certification or LPN license required. CPR required.

Medical Tech or Medical Lab Tech

This position is responsible for performing all Lab testing as authorized by the Lab Director to include proper procurement of blood, urine & other specimens on all age groups, maintenance of all laboratory equipment, daily quality control of all laboratory departments, and reporting & maintaining all laboratory records. Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in a biology/medical related field or associate’s degree from a two-year college required. ASCP certified required. Minimum 2 years experience preferred. Must rotate shifts, weekends, and holidays. Must be competent across all Lab areas.
