The Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center at Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber was founded 10 years ago, but the numbers that really matter are much more impressive, such as the 60,000 digital mammograms conducted there.
Or the 150,000 patients who have been seen at the center.
Still, it’s impossible to calculate the number of lives that the center has touched over the past decade.
“It is a dream come true,” said Joyce Murtha, widow of U.S. Rep. John P. Murtha. “I am very proud to be a part of this center and to have my name on it.”
