The Greater Johnstown Saddle Club & Golden Star Horse Farm presented a check in the amount of $11,237 to Windber Hospice from their 17th Annual Benefit Horse Show that was held on August 18 and 19 at the Greater Johnstown Saddle Club in Salix.
Denny Hutchinson, Event Chairperson, said, “I want to thank all the volunteers that help with the Hospice Horse Show, it would not be possible to continue without your dedication to Windber Hospice.”
“On behalf of Windber Hospice, I would like to take the opportunity to sincerely thank the Horse Show Committee, the Johnstown Saddle Club, the Gold Star Horse Farm, and the residents of our community for the ongoing support in our mission in providing quality care to the patients in which we serve. Windber Hospice has always focused on treating patients holistically through the use of complementary therapies including therapeutic music, massage therapy, and flower essences. This support has given Windber Hospice greater abilities to expand these services for our delicate clientele. We are appreciative of the hard work and dedication of this committee in sharing our vision in patient-centered care for those with a life-limiting illness,” said Kristie Berkebile, Windber Hospice Director.
The group has raised a total of $269,237 for Windber Hospice throughout the past 17 years. This year’s donation will support patient care needs and the music therapy program.
