JMBCC Receives $12,100 Donation from the Johnstown Walk of Hope

The Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center (JMBCC) accepted a check for $12,110 from the Johnstown Walk of Hope, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising money to support local cancer patients and caregivers in our area. This year, they presented a total of $55,350 to three area cancer nonprofits in support of their mission to assist patients and families in Cambria and Somerset counties who have a cancer diagnosis. Funds were raised from donations and t-shirt sales.

The Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center (JMBCC) opened in February 2002 offering comprehensive and personalized breast care in one convenient location. The JMBCC is exists to prevent and treat diseases of the breast and other conditions that can impact the lives of the women served. The tools and techniques used include digital mammography, ultrasound, breast biopsies, breast MRI, bone densitometry, genetic counseling, research studies, and a female breast surgeon on-site.
