1. What is your specialty?
I am an Obstetrician/Gynecologist. I have been in practice for 32 years and I am board certified by the American Board of OB/GYN. I practiced obstetrics for 20 years, but now my practice is limited to gynecology.

2. Why did you want to become a physician?
I have wanted to be a physician for as long as I can remember. I recently found my seventh grade yearbook where I stated that my plan for my profession was to be a physician. I have always been interested in science and anatomy, and I have always wanted to help people.

3. What is one aspect of the job that you find rewarding?
Obviously when I was doing obstetrics, it was rewarding to deliver a healthy baby. Now, I find that helping people through surgery is quite rewarding. I also enjoy the interpersonal relationships that develop over the years between myself and my patients.

4. In your opinion, what’s the future of your field?
We are moving to less invasive procedures and more medical treatment for problems that, in the past, could only be resolved by surgery. This is obviously very beneficial for patients.

5. What do you do to achieve work/life balance?
My wife and I enjoy traveling. I am a competitive fencer and I also teach fencing. I am learning to build guitars, as well.
