1. What is your specialty?
I’m a fellowship-trained breast surgeon specializing in the full spectrum of breast care — from minimally invasive biopsies and breast-conserving surgeries to skin-sparing and nipple-sparing mastectomies. I also perform sentinel lymph node biopsies and oncoplastic procedures that combine cancer surgery with reconstructive techniques for the best possible outcomes.
In addition to my surgical work, I’ve contributed to medical research, published in professional journals, and participated in several national quality studies. I’m passionate about combining traditional medical science with holistic approaches that promote healing at the cellular level.
2. Why did you want to become a physician?
I’ve wanted to be a surgeon since I was four years old. My mother encouraged me to follow my passion, and her support inspired me to pursue medicine. I worked hard throughout my education and feel very fortunate to have trained at one of the top cancer centers in the country.
3. What is one aspect of the job that you find rewarding?
Inspiring women to live their best lives after a breast cancer diagnosis is deeply rewarding. I guide my patients not only through treatment, but also in making lifestyle and wellness choices that support long-term health. I help them understand how genetics, environment, and even inflammation in the body can play a role in cancer development. My goal is always to provide exceptional care while helping women move forward with strength, confidence, and hope.
4. In your opinion, what’s the future of your field?
The future of breast surgery is very bright. Advances in early detection, screening, and surgical techniques are helping patients achieve better outcomes than ever before. Oncoplastic surgery—combining cancer removal with reconstructive techniques—allows women to heal both physically and emotionally while preserving a natural appearance.
We’re also moving toward more personalized treatment, where care is tailored to each person’s unique genetics and tumor biology. These innovations, along with continued research in immunotherapy and precision medicine, are improving survival rates and enhancing quality of life for patients.
Ultimately, the focus is shifting toward whole-person care—helping women feel informed, confident, and supported at every stage of their journey.
5. What do you do to achieve work/life balance?
Spending time with my 11-year-old son is my greatest joy. We love reading, writing stories, and even directing short videos together. We dream of building our own home library someday, complete with a skylight ceiling. I also enjoy staying curious and learning more about innovative scientific approaches to cancer care.
