1. What is your specialty?
I have a Master’s degree in Nursing and I am certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I specialize in assessing, diagnosing, and treating gastrointestinal disorders.

2. Why did you want to become a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)?
I am a nerd at heart, I enjoy learning about anatomy and physiology. Understanding how the body works and how different disease processes can be treated is very interesting to me. Medicine has always been a passion of mine and being a nurse practitioner is very fulfilling to me.

3. What is one aspect of the job that you find rewarding?
One aspect of the job that is rewarding to me is the process of diagnosing and treating the patient. Being able to identify what their problem is and providing them with treatment options that improve the patient’s quality of life is fulfilling and fuels my interest in medicine.

4. In your opinion, what’s the future of your field?
Gastroenterology is a progressive field in itself. Guidelines and treatment options are evolving to better serve patients. This will only provide us with more opportunities to learn and help us grow as providers.

5. What do you do to achieve work/life balance?
Achieving a work/life balance is something that definitely takes work. Organization is key. I try to stay as organized as possible and prioritize tasks. I ensure I get time to do what I love. Sending time with my family and friends is very important to me and helps with the stress levels.
