1. What is your specialty?
I am the hospitalist nurse practitioner covering Wing III, our in-patient unit, and the Critical Care Unit.

2. Why did you want to become a CRNP?
I wanted to become a CRNP to further my education, broaden my opportunities, and provide additional, more advanced care, to patients.

3. What is one aspect of the job that you find rewarding?
I find a lot of different aspects of being a CRNP rewarding. However, I particularly enjoy being able to provide advanced care to patients in diagnosing and treating their acute problems and monitoring their recovery in a hospital setting.

4. In your opinion, what’s the future of your field?
I hope to have a long future in this career in working with both Dr. Comas and Dr. Fockler. Nurse practitioners are continuing to make great strides in gaining more independence in health care, so I hope options to provide advanced care stay open for all CRNPs in the future.

5. What do you do to achieve work/life balance?
Being a new mom, I’m sure balancing a new schedule with an infant will be challenging. However, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, separating work life from personal life.

Selection of a health care provider is a personal choice. Most or all of the health care providers performing services in this Hospital are independent contractors who have privileges to practice at the Hospital but they are not Hospital employees, representatives or agents. This includes but is not limited to radiologists, pathologists, emergency physicians, anesthesiologists, hospitalists, surgeons and others. Independent contractors are responsible for their own actions and the Hospital is not liable for the acts or omissions of any such independent contractors.

If understanding the relationship between your Health Care Provider and this Hospital is important to you, you may ask your Health Care Provider.
