1. What is your specialty?
I am board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I currently work in Family Practice.

2. Why did you want to become a Nurse Practitioner?
I chose to advance my career as a Nurse Practitioner because I value autonomy and have a passion for lifelong learning. I enjoy building meaningful relationships with my patients and caring for them throughout different stages of life. Establishing trust, promoting wellness, and providing holistic, evidence-based care align closely with my commitment to patient-centered care. After years of working at the bedside, I became interested in the diagnosis and management of patient care. My nursing background has helped me approach patients as whole individuals, with a focus on their unique needs, education, and health promotion. Providing care is a responsibility I do not take lightly, and I am grateful for the trust my patients place in me.

3. What is one aspect of the job that you find rewarding?
Nursing is an incredibly rewarding career. It is an honor to care for patients during some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives. No textbook can fully teach you how to hold a patient’s hand, listen to their stories, and calm their fears as they navigate personal and health struggles. It is especially meaningful to know that they trust me and choose me as their healthcare provider.

4. In your opinion, what’s the future of your field?
I hope to see Nurse Practitioners gain full practice authority in the future. With the current physician shortage, Advanced Practice Providers have the opportunity to help bridge gaps in healthcare and improve access to care in underserved and healthcare desert regions.

5. What do you do to achieve work/life balance?
In my free time I love to walk my dog, vacation at the beach, listen to live music with my husband, and spend time with my daughter. We love to be outside and spending time with our extended family is important to us.
