Interventional Cardiologist Joins CSSMCW Medical Staff

Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber (CSSMCW) is pleased to announce that Wilman Olmedo Calderon, MD, has joined its medical staff as an Interventional Cardiologist. He brings more than 15 years of experience in interventional and cardiovascular medicine, further strengthening CSSMCW’s comprehensive heart care services.

Dr. Olmedo began seeing patients in October and provides both inpatient and outpatient interventional cardiology services at CSSMCW’s Cardiac Catheterization Lab under the direction of Samir Hadeed, MD, FACC, Medical Director of the lab, who also operates Johnstown Heart and Vascular Center. Working collaboratively with Dr. Hadeed and Dr. Jude Mugerwa, Dr. Olmedo helps ensure that patients in the region have access to high-quality, advanced cardiovascular care close to home.

Originally from El Salvador, Dr. Olmedo earned his medical degree from Universidad de El Salvador Faculty of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, followed by a Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center, and an Interventional Cardiology fellowship at Stony Brook University Hospital.

He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology, and also holds certifications in Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology.
