Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber (CSSMCW) is proud to welcome Paramjeet Kaur, MD, FACS, a fellowship-trained breast surgeon, to the Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center. With more than 15 years of experience in breast surgery, Dr. Kaur brings advanced surgical expertise and a patient-centered approach to comprehensive breast health care. She began seeing patients at the center in November.
Dr. Kaur specializes in minimally invasive and advanced breast procedures, including skin-sparing and nipple-areola-sparing mastectomies, breast-conserving surgery, sentinel lymph node biopsies, and oncoplastic techniques that combine cancer removal with reconstructive methods for the best functional and aesthetic outcomes. She is also experienced in performing stereotactic and ultrasound-guided procedures, providing risk assessments, and helping patients navigate survivorship after treatment.
“I’m excited to join the Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center, which offers an integrated approach to women’s health—combining advanced imaging, coordinated care, education, and emotional support,” said Dr. Kaur. “I look forward to growing as a practitioner while providing innovative, compassionate care that helps women achieve the best possible outcomes.”
Dr. Kaur completed a Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, one of the nation’s leading cancer research and treatment institutions. She completed general surgery residencies at Marshall University/Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine and Easton Hospital in Easton, Pennsylvania, following a general surgery internship at Guthrie Clinic/Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania. She earned her medical degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in Aligarh, India.
Board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Kaur is also certified in stereotactic and ultrasound-guided breast procedures. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
Over the course of her career, Dr. Kaur has practiced as a breast surgeon in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Florida, and New Jersey, and has served as Medical Director of Breast Surgery at Pottstown Medical Center, Winter Haven Hospital, and Florida Heartland Hospital. She has also contributed to numerous research initiatives and quality studies and is published in multiple medical journals.
“The future of breast surgery is incredibly promising,” Dr. Kaur added. “Advances in early detection, personalized medicine, and oncoplastic surgery are transforming the field. We’re not only improving survival rates but also helping women maintain confidence and quality of life throughout their care.”
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Kaur enjoys spending time with her 11-year-old son. Together they share a love for reading, writing stories, and directing short videos—and dream of one day building a personal library complete with a skylight ceiling.
