CSSMCW Appoints Richard M. Sukenik as Chief Executive Officer

Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard M. Sukenik, CPA, MBA, CHFP, CGMA, as its new Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Sukenik brings more than two decades of healthcare and financial leadership experience, strategic insight, and a strong commitment to the organization’s mission of providing high-quality, compassionate care to the community.

Mr. Sukenik has been a vital member of the hospital’s senior leadership team, most recently serving as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for both the Medical Center and Chan Soon-Shiong Institute of Molecular Medicine. In that role, he oversaw financial operations including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, revenue cycle management, and productivity analysis. He also provided strategic leadership and operational oversight for key departments such as Supply Chain, Information Technology, Pharmacy, Rehabilitation Services, and Medical Records.

His career includes leadership roles with the Conemaugh Health System/Memorial Medical Center, MedcomSoft, and viLogics Inc., as well as experience in corporate compliance, audit, and regulatory affairs. Mr. Sukenik holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Economics from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and an MBA from St. Francis College in Loretto, PA. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Global Management Accountant, and Certified Healthcare Financial Professional.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Sukenik is active in community service. He is currently serving his second term as a School Director for the Richland School District and has contributed to the region as a youth sports coach, former treasurer of the Highland Community Library, and adjunct accounting instructor at Pennsylvania Highlands Community College.

Mr. Sukenik resides in Richland Township with his wife Cathy, their daughter Jordyn, and their dog Jax. He enjoys spending time with family, reading, working on home improvement projects, and exploring the local area on scenic drives.
