Beach Body Abs; Truth or Myth?

Everyone has “target areas” that they would like to see changed or improved.

One of the most common target areas is the abdominals. Your abs are a muscle, so it makes sense that working those muscles should make them stick out right? Sure, and they will, but only if your body fat percentage is low enough. If they are covered by a layer of excess weight (fat) then they will remain hidden.

Unfortunately, the belly area is one of the primary places your body stores fat. Men typically store more here than women.

So how do you get those abs to be visible?

Simple, well not really, but the best way is to actually lose the weight that is covering those abs. Sorry, but it’s not possible to lose in just that spot. You will need to lose weight all over for it to happen.

All of the crunches, sit-ups, and abdominal strength equipment in the world won’t give you those “beach body” abs if you have excess weight. Take a look at the picture to get an idea of where your body fat percentage should be to expose those abs. The single best way to get there is regular cardiovascular exercise, proper diet, and consistency.

Once a week won’t cut it. Twice a week is getting closer, but not quite there yet. Exercising 3-4 times per week and eating healthy every day is how you will do it.

If you set your mind to reaching your goals, you can do anything!
