A program's designation publicly honors it as being the best of the best, and in becoming a BSCOE, the program has held itself up to some of the highest standards in the industry. Many studies have shown that surgery performed in a BSCOE is safer and more effective. By offering comprehensive services to all its patients our program is promoting safety and provides the patient support to enhance your success.

 

Additionally, some insurance plans require a hospital to be a designated BSCOE. Patients with those insurance plans can now also have their surgery locally at Windber Medical Center by Dr. Kim Marley instead of travelling long distances to large cities. Having care closer to home helps keep you at the center of your healthcare team leading to more successful outcomes with easier follow-up.
