Planetree Organization Recognizes Hospital for Achievement and Innovation in Patient-Centered Approaches to Care

Windber, PA — Windber Medical Center in Windber, Pennsylvania has been formally designated by Planetree, Inc. as a “Designated Planetree Patient-Centered Hospital.” This designation recognizes WMC’s achievement and innovation in fostering a culture within the hospital in which providers partner with patients and families, and where patient comfort, dignity, empowerment and well-being are prioritized with providing top-quality clinical care.

Windber Medical Center has been a Planetree Hospital since 1998 and is the only Planetree Hospital in the state of Pennsylvania. With the hospital's designation status in 2009, it has become one of only ten hospitals in the world to be recognized as a Designated Planetree Patient-Centered Hospital.
