PALLIATIVE CARE UNIT

Dignity and Compassion are at the heart of the WindberCare Hospice program.  That focus is reflected in the beautiful 14,000 sq.ft. Palliative Care unit located atop the campus of Windber Medical Center.  Opened in the fall of 2000, Windber’s palliative care unit is one of the most advanced facilities in North America yet creates a warm, home-like atmosphere that is completely unlike a typical hospital room.

The Palliative Care Unit is available to hospice patients when they need in-patient hospital care and is also a resource for their families and caregivers when they are away or need a short rest from the difficult demands of caring for a dying loved one.
