Shannon Butler - Speech Therapist
 

Shannon Butler is a full time Speech Pathologist and clinical supervisor with a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  She has 15 years of extensive experience in multiple venues including acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient, homecare, and was the Director of Speech Therapy Services in Virginia.  Due to her passion with helping those with dysphagia or swallowing disorders/deficits, she has a specialty certification in Deep Pharyngeal Neuromuscular Stimulation and is always completing continuing education courses to increase her knowledge and understanding of the new and upcoming information in speech/language/swallowing treatment.  Her background interests include swallowing, neurological deficits, and auditory processing deficits.   She is a native of Windber where she also resides to date with her husband and three children Logan -12, Jacob-8, and Faith-6.   She has a passion for giving children a purpose to communicate and help all to succeed towards goals. 

 
 
 
Alexa Brown - Occupational Therapist
 

Alexa Brown is a full-time pediatric occupational therapist with a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Saint Francis University and a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science. She received a minor in psychology. She also works as a pediatric occupational therapist at the DiSepio Center for Rehabilitation at Saint Francis University. She previously served as an adjunct instructor in the university’s occupational therapy department. Alexa has experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient, and skilled nursing settings. She continues to further her knowledge in the field of occupational therapy with continuing education courses. Special focuses include topics of sensory integration, autism, feeding, and therapeutic listening. In her free time, Alexa enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and volleyball.

 
 
 
Tonya Bibby - Physical Therapist

Tonya Bibby is a full time, licensed physical therapist who received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Chatham University and previously received her Bachelor’s degree in Health Science from Mount Aloysius College. Other than working full time at Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber, she also works in early intervention treating children 0-3 outside of the clinic. Tonya has had experience in a variety of settings including pediatrics, early intervention, acute care and outpatient physical therapy. Areas of interest that Tonya currently treats in include pediatrics, vestibular rehabilitation, balance, and neurology. When not at the clinic, you will often find Tonya spending time with family and friends, participating on recreational teams and doing photography.

 
 
Megan Painter - Physical Therapist
 

Megan Painter is a full time, licensed physical therapist whom joined the Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber team in 2012.  She grew up in a small town in Cambria County prior to receiving her Bachelors Degree in Natural Science from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Saint Francis University.  While she has aided in the development of the Pediatric Physical Therapy Program at Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center at Windber, she additionally works within Cyber School Home Care and Early Intervention services outside of the clinic.  Megan has a broad array of experience within settings of inpatient rehabilitation, acute/subacute care, school based therapy and outpatient therapy with her focus specifically pertaining to the areas of pediatrics, neurology, vestibular rehabilitation, and orthopedics.  Due to her special interests within gait dysfunctions and manual therapy, she currently has special training in temporary orthotic fabrication and is preparing to provide serial casting as well.  She has a strong passion for helping others and continues to challenge herself daily to ensure the betterment of her patients.  Outside of work, Megan can often be found spending family time, enjoying the outdoors and supporting her local Pittsburgh sports teams.
