 Integrated Cardiac Health Program (ICHP)

The Integrated Cardiac Health Program (ICHP) is an innovative approach to prevention based on the concept that comprehensive lifestyle changes can have a meaningful impact on developing disease. Our programs focus on health promotion and risk reduction by combining clinical practice with research done here on the Windber Medical Center Campus at the Windber Research Institute. The ICHP program offers two risk factor modification programs designed to decrease your risk of developing heart and/or breast disease: The Cardiac Risk Clinic and the Stress Therapy Empowering Prevention (STEP) Program.

Through our dedicated team of health professionals, our participants are empowered with the tools to focus on health promotion and disease prevention. We will work with each participant on an individual level to ensure that the appropriate amount of education and experience needed to achieve success is provided. We teach participants to look at their behavior as a series of habits and realize that poor health practices might have contributed to their disease. We show them that diet, as well as exercise and managing stress, are learned behaviors that can be re-taught and sustained in a supportive atmosphere. Recognizing and changing bad habits and replacing them with new, healthier habits is not that difficult-we will show you how.

Want to learn what steps to take to live a healthier lifestyle? Then now is the time to learn more about the programs that ICHP has to offer.
