The Vision...
In 1998 Windber Medical Center embarked on a new philosophy that would completely change how we view patient care. We realized that our patients were a major contributing resource to our success so in an effort to expand that resource we became a Planetree affiliate hospital.

Planetree has pioneered methods for personalizing, humanizing and clarifying the healthcare experience for patients and their families.

Reaching the Goal...
In October 2009 we achieved the status of a Planetree Designated Hospital. Windber Medical Center is the only hospital in Pennsylvania to achieve this designation, and is currently the only designated Planetree hospital in Pennsylvania. Our facility has benefited from this unique approach but the testimony of our patients has been the ultimate evidence of this achievement.
